Geneva Auto Show 2011
So here's the third part of my article on the 81st Geneva Auto show 2011. There, I met with car spotters Shmee150 and Marchettino to hang around a little bit, but mostly to do what we love most = seeing supercars and making videos to share with you guys [CLICK HERE to see my full playlist of videos from the event]. This time, I'm going to talk about the high-luxury tuners!
PART 3 // The Tuners [you're reading it]
PART 3
The high-luxury tuners
MANSORY
Khourosh Mansory is the artist behind Mansory, the swiss tuner whose creations are often seen in the middle-east! I saw him at the Auto Show but didn't talk to him, now I kind of regret it! Mansory is a rather young firm, but very active: they sell from 80 to 100 cars every year! Not bad when you know the price they ask for their creations! It is well-known for making extravagant high-luxury tuning works on cars, using huge body modifications and extraordinary colors! This year, Mansory boasted us with three models. I only managed to cover two of them.
The Siracusa is Mansory's vision on the Ferrari 458 italia. Using carbon fiber to add more agressivity to the car, mostly using air intakes, this "Siracusa" is selling for +360k euros! The yellow color is kind of special too: not just any yellow, but it's a nacred yellow, almost fluorescent. Hopefully we'll see one this summer in Europe, who knows! To be honest, I kinda like it: although the front is a bit too weird for me (it almost looks like an Enzo at some points, but then it "rounds up" at the nose part).

The Cormeum is their latest crazy idea. Most of the press didn't really like the car, and neither did I... As I said many times, this year, the Mercedes SLS AMG was the object of all the attention! And Mansory didn't fail to notice, and render their own version of the SLS AMG: the CORMEUM. It's a full carbon-fiber car that presents to us, with a HUGE and horrendous wing in the back. Worst part has got to be the front: it looks as if they gave it a Stirling Moss look, and added Ferrari 599 head-lights! Anyways, I won't spit too much on it, because after all, it's a masterpiece of engineering and creativity on its own, and I've always admired and respected those that "moved" the automotive industry. You be the judge:

HAMANN
This year, the German tuner HAMANN, which is well-known for doing amazing and very agressive work (Remember the SLR Volcano? Because I sure as hell do!), brought amazing stuff to the Geneva auto show!
For starters, their work on the SLS AMG is amazing. The "HAWK", as they call it, is much more agressive than every other SLS AMG I've seen at the Auto Show! The "desert eagle" robe fits it very well. The carbon fiber parts go from the hood to the back, including the back wing... which is simple yet effective in the global approach of the car = german work at its best. As always with Hamann, the name on the model is written in the flank of the car, just in case you forget (can you say tacky?). Nevertheless, particularily like the smoked tail-lights! Only sad little thing: the Hamann rims never change...

You guys obviously remember the BMW X6 Tycoon Evo that roamed around Europe next to an SLR Volcano. Well this time, Hamann did the next level: the BMW X6 Tycoon EVO M. Not very creative or innovant, but nevertheless a huge and powerful monster. I like the dark look it has...

Or the Porsche Cayenne GUARDIAN? Keen Ressemblance to the Tycoon EVO M, me thinks!

NOVITEC ROSSO
As every year, Novitec Rosso brings 3 models. And they always seem to be white and black! Novitec Rosso is a tuner that is specialized with Ferraris, and their trademark is the blacked-out tail-lights. There aren't that many, trust me! And better yet: Ferrari seems to like their work, and they allow Novitec Rosso to use their emblem = the cavallino. This year, threee models were being presented.
The Ferrari 458 Italia
I really liked this Ferrari 458 Italia by Novitec Rosso. It's very sober, nothing too much. A very discrete little black wing in the back makes it more "sport" (but then again, does a Ferrari really needs to be?). They've taken the "black roof" phenomenom and made it their own, customizing it with carbon fiber, and adding little air intakes on the back. And the black rims with a white interior lip are simply gorgeous, especially with a white car. What do you think?

The Ferrari 599 GTO "808".
The base model for this "808" by Novitec Rosso is non other than the Ferrari 599 GTO. But not any GTO, it's a "historic livery" one (notice the yellow stripe and white circle on the flank), a special livery for this car. Which is probably why NR didn't modify the colors. But they did add a magnificent black cavallino on the front flank of the car, near the side-view mirrors. The rims are pretty cool, and the blacked-out tail-lights are amazing. But the most significant change is invisible to the human eye: the 808 horse power. They managed to add more than 200hp to this beast... Seriously...

The Ferrari California - Race 606
There isn't much to say about this California there. Race 606, as in 606 horse power. That's right, you read right. As usual with tuners, the body modifications on the car make it look much more agressive. You gotta admit that carbon fiber line on the hood is a pretty neat thing...

FAB DESIGN.
The swiss tuner impressed me this year with their rendition on the Mercedes SLS AMG: the GULLSTREAM. It's a magnificent matte blue beast, with a very very agressive look. The additions they made are very sobre and fit nicely with the car's lines. The interior is the most impressive part to be honest: the white and blue theme going on is pretty cool (and it looks as if it might be crocodile leather too)! Look at the blue carbon fiber on the console... Sadly I didn't have much time to check-out the rest of their work... :(

THE REST:
ABT.
This year, the german tuner ABT, which is kind of famous for tuning Audi cars, did a very good job on this R8 V10 spyder. A black (well, carbon fiber to be exact) and red theme is going on there, and the black rims with red lips is simply astonishing! Amazing car, nothing else to say, seriously! Now this is how you stand out of the crowd!
