Sport & Collection 2011 - 500 Ferrari contre le cancer

Every year, there's a charity event in France called Sport & Collection that helps raise money for the research against cancer. I finally decided to go there this yet, but only for a day: friday 3rd of June. And I didn't regret it one bit (although I missed a black Maserati MC12) considering I got to see: Pagani Zonda R, Pagani Huayra, Pagani Zonda F and S, Ferrari Enzo, 250 GTO, F40, F40 LM, F50, 458 challenge & countless Ferrari, Lamborghini Murcielago, LP670 SV, Murcielago R-GT, Porsche GT3RS, Gumpert Apollo S... & many more!! Check ALL MY VIDEOS FROM THE EVENT HERE.
A bit of background information: the event lasts for 3 days: lots of supercars parked or racing on the track. You can even pay to get a ride, or a VIP ride which is a bit longer if I remember correctly (although I didn't do one). On the last day there's the final supercar parade, with over 500 Ferrari (which I didn't get to see).
So I left Paris with the TGV at 6:45 AM. A friend picked me up in Poitiers with his tiny yet very pleasant Citroën Visa to go to the event, which takes place 70km south from there, at the Vigeant (circuit du Val de Vienne). We finally arrived, and entered the circuit. Many supercars were already parked in this specific area reserved for them: red Ferrari F50, yellow Maserati GranTurismo with black rims, red Lamborghini murcielago... as well as incredible amounts of 458 italia, 430, 360, California, 355 and pretty much every other model you could think of.... It was pretty impressive.

As I walked a bit more to the end of the parking, the surprises were even greater. Orange Lamborghini LP670 SV, blue Gumpert Apollo S surrounded by three Ferrari F40, Ferrari Enzo... Enough to make some cool pictures, don't you think? :)

Then I went for the paddocks. The first cars I saw there were the Paganis. The Huayra was there as promised, next to a Pagani Zonda S with a yellow/grey stripe on the hood (which I personnaly find pretty awesome). The Zonda F arrived later on, but I post the pictures now. I don't know about you, but as time passes by, the Huayra is getting prettier... Especially with Horacio Pagani in it!

The Pagani Zonda R was already on the track. And it made an INCREDIBLE sound. I had never been to the tracks before, and hearing all these supercars and race cars on their natural environment was pretty incredible. Although I sometimes wish I had brought ear plugs with me (the sound is demonic and incredibly loud...)!!! Here are some pictures from when it came back to rest ;)

Some of the cars that were on the paddocks: a set of two Lamborghini Diablo GTR, Ferrari F40, Ferrari F40 LM, Lamborghini Murcielago R-GT, as well as some race versions of the 360, 430 and 458 italia. Seeing the Ferrari 250 GTO for the second time is pretty great. Especially when there are no stickers on it! What a lovely car.... and to think you're walking next to a multi-million euros art masterpiece!

Now it's time for some videos of the cars on the track. Put the sound to the max and enjoy!

And a very cool combo we saw as we were getting redy to leave. Gumpert Apollo S + Ferrari Enzo.

Finally, as the day was ending and the sun was setting, everyone was pretty tired (especially me, I don't know why I'm always so tired). Good thing I had to catch a train back to Paris at 10:30 PM, so we left around 9:00 PM (and barely made it in time haha). On the way back, it was nice to catch some of these cars on the road or parked in their hotels! Definitely a great experience I'd love to do again!! Thanks a lot to my friend Deudeuche86 (aka Matthieu) for giving me a ride :)
