The Ferrari Superamerica 45.
As you might know, James Glickenhaus was one of the first Ferrari clients to have his unique Ferrari, the P4/5, a model which was solely created for him, on his demand, and according to his wishes. Ever since, Ferrari has reinforced its personalization program (called "Special Projects"). In other words, the prancing horse brand works with a few lucky and hand-picked selected clients to bring to life their OWN Ferrari (for a price, of course. Some say the base price is over 2 million dollars, but as of today I can't confirm). They say a few of those exclusive and unique Ferrari are already in the works, but this is one of the first model to come out of the personalization program, and that has been revealed to the general public (that I know of). The one-off supercar will make its official debut at the Villa d'Este Concorsa d'eleganza 2011, in Italy (which starts tomorrow, may 20th).
The lucky client who got to make his own Ferrari is Peter Kalikow, a Ferrari collector from the USA. He has been a Ferrari client for over 45 years (hence the name of the car). The car is heavily influenced by the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, which is based on, and with the Ferrari 575 Superamerica. Needless to say, I can't help but see a 599 SA Aperta as well. The color is called "Blu Antille", and apparently matches the color of another one of the owner's Ferrari (a Ferrari 400 Superamerica cabriolet). Discover the rest in the pictures (more to come, I hope)!
